At present, 1.2 lakh employees work in the Indian offices of Capgemini.
The French company, Capgemini is all set to 12,000 to 15,000 students from Indian campuses in 2020. The recruitment number is similar to 2019.
The multinational firm gives an average annual salary of Rs 3.8 lakh to the freshers but the annual package for IITs and NITs students goes up to Rs 6.5 lakh.
India’s Important Part in Capgemini’s Play!
Indian employee strength can be said as the driving force of Capgemini. In fact, India accounts for more than half of the company’s global employee strength.
Capgemini India CEO Ashwin Yardi said, “Our Indian operations has the largest pool of certified consultants in new Hana, SAP’s flagship product. We have 1800while our nearest competitor in India is 500. The focus is on continued skilling. On average, we are reskilling 60,000 plus employees.”
The US based company, Cognizant is aiming to hire more than 20,000 students from Indian campuses this year. The IT services company has shot up their annual campus salary packages for engineering graduates by 18 % to Rs 4,00,000.
Capgemeini’s Future Plans!
Capgemini is also setting up its two labs in Paris and Mumbai to find a solution for 5G technologies. The aim is to capture arising opportunities in telecom and industrial IoT.
Yardi added, “5G is not just about telecom. It will create a much bigger revolution in industrial IoT space. 5G will change how services are created around data acquisition and what you can do with it.”
Capgemini hired Airtel’s Monica Gupta as Vice President to drive its 5G and communication technologies business in India. It also hired Honeywell’s Maneesh Pant as Vice President of automotive, mobility and EUC (Energy, Utilities & Chemicals) sector in India.
In total, the company has 200 VPs in India. In the company’s 26-member Group Executive Committee (GEC), it has four Indian figures. Yardi being one of them.
Recently, Capgemini acquired a French engineering services company, Altran with the idea of focusing on ‘intelligent industry’. The two companies merging will increase the revenue to 17 billion euro and 2,50,000 employees. Around one-third of Altran’s 50,000 employees are based in India.
Yardi said, “Altran will accelerate Capgemini’s engineering capacities.Altran is a combination of operational technology and IT which will drive huge data services.”
