Bank Strike On Jan 31 & Feb 1 Which Is Budget Day; SBI Says Banking Operations, ATM Service Will Be Impacted?
Some of the biggest bank employee unions and associations have announced a megabank strike, which will happen for two days: January 31st and February 1st.
February 1st is the day when FInancce Minister will announce the budget, and this signifies so many things.

2-Days Bank Strike On January 31st, February 1st
Brace for another bank strike, which will impact entire India.
This latest bank strike has been called by United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which is an umbrella body of top 9 bank employee unions such as All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW)
More than 5 lakh bank employees are expected to be part of this strike.
This is the second bank strike which will impact India in 2020. On January 8th, 10 major bank employee unions, along with trade unions had announced a mega strike, in which more than 12 lakh employees took part.
Why Is This Strike Happening?
Note here, that February 1st is the Union Budget day, when India’s Finance Minister will announce the much-awaited Union Budget.
Now, announcing a bank strike on the day when India’s budget is to be announced speaks volume about the impact.
This strike has been called for protesting the wage policies of Govt. of India.

Banking Operations Will Be Impacted?
State Bank of India or SBI, which is India’s biggest bank, has informed all customers that banking operations will be impacted due to strike.
As per the messages sent to all customers, SBI has informed that ATM operations at some locations can also get impacted.
Between March 11 to 13th, bank employees will unleash another strike, and on April 1st, a new strike has been announced.
