80% Job Reservation For Locals In Maharashtra; Will Bullet Train Will Be Scraped Under New Govt?

The newly formed Maharashtra government has started to work on there agenda and its highlights are coming in from Wednesday.

It is expected that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project could get affected by the political change in Maharashtra, considering the Shiv Sena’s belligerent mood.

What Will Happen With The Bullet Train Project?

According to the sources, the senior bureaucrats have “unofficially” been consulted by leaders of the Sena, Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on the fate of the project.

The project has a mention in the alliance’s common minimum program, according to that the State’s share of the funds will be diverted towards a universal farm loan waiver. 

But yet further clarity needs to have on how and when this would be done, party leaders said.

Two senior Sena members called the bullet train project “unnecessary” on Wednesday and said emphasized on farmers being the first priority for the government. 

They further added that the big-ticket projects would also be reviewed –  the Nanar refinery project will stay scrapped and no more trees will be cut in Aarey colony for Metro 3.

“Apart from the trees already cut inside Aarey colony, not a single tree will be cut. Uddhavji has said this government will take decisions in favor of the environment and the people. There will be no changes in the decision to scrap the Nanar refinery project. We had opposed the bullet train in the past also. If one project is causing such losses to people, why do we need it?” said Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande.

How 80% Quota Will Be Ensured For Local In Maharashtra?

while addressing the joint sitting of the State legislature at Vidhan Bhawan, Mr. Koshyari made the announcement in which he has informed about the new government’s broader agenda for the coming years.

According to that the government would provide a meal at ?10 to common citizens and will also build a super-specialty hospital in every district of the State.

They also talked about providing statutory 80% reservation in jobs for local youths.

Mr. Koshyari said “The Sena-NCP-Congress combine’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government is concerned over unemployment. The new government will enact a law to ensure 80% reservation in private sector jobs for the sons of the soil,”.

He also said that the government will soon present a “true picture” of the economic status of Maharashtra.

“That picture will broadly talk about the economic status of the state and its financial condition,” he added.

What About Farmers?

Mr. Koshyari said “The government will set up centers to provide meal at ?10 in the state. Clinics will be set up where health screening will be done at the cost of ?1. Super-specialty hospitals will be constructed in every district,”.

He also assured that the appropriate measures would be taken to bail out farmers whose Kharif crop got damaged in unseasonal rains in November.

He said “Farmers from 349 tehsils in 34 districts of Maharashtra suffered crop loss due to untimely showers. Appropriate measures would be taken to ease their woes. This government will also work for providing appropriate remuneration to farmers’ for their produce,”.

What About The Education?

While talking about education Mr. Koshyari said the government would try to offer education to women free of cost and build hostels for working women.

He said “A progressive society offers the opportunity for the people. We will try to offer higher education for women for free. This government will also try to provide hostels for working women at all the district places,”.

He also informed that the new government will form a policy to attract more Information Technology (IT) firms to make investment in the state.

He said “to attract more investment in other industrial sectors, we will offer more facilities and better clearance services,”, adding that the government will continue its efforts to efficiently enforce plastic ban across the state.

“This government will try to address the pending issues of OBCs and other communities. The issues of Anganwadi and Asha workers will be addressed amicably,” Mr. Koshyari added.
