Recently Forbes has released its annual list of The World’s Best Regarded Companies and in that list, IT giant Infosys featured as 3rd most regarded company in the world.

Only two companies Financial Service company Visa and the sports car manufacturer Ferrari was ahead of Infosys. Visa has secured the top position while Ferrari is in second place in this list.

The multinational company Infosys crushed Microsoft, Walt Disney, Siemens, Apple and many other companies in this race. Infosys bounced to third spot from its earlier 31st position in the year 2018.

How Did This Happen?

According to Forbes, it has partnered with Statista to cull their annual list of the world’s 2,000 largest public companies down to the 250 best-regarded businesses. 

The ranking is based on trustworthiness, social conduct, the strength of their products and services and how they fare as employers.

They surveyed 15,000 respondents from 50 countries to gather the data for the specified parameters.

Forbes referred Infosys rankings with a headline saying ‘Asian invasion’ and informed that 59 out of 250 companies listed were based in the USA. While three countries Japan, China and India has a total of 82 countries listed this year higher than previous years 63 number.

Forbes said, “In all, nearly half of the 250 best-regarded companies are based in Asia, making it the most dominant continent,”. 

Other Indian Companies Featured In The List

Apart from Infosys around 16 other Indian companies became part of this list which includes names like Tata Motors, TCS and HDFC.

Tata Consultancy ranked at 31st position while Tata Consultancy Services ranked at 22nd position in this list.

The other companies present in the top 10 list are Netflix at the 4th position, followed by PayPal (5), Microsoft (6), Walt Disney (7), Toyota Motor (8), Mastercard (9), Costco Wholesale (10). 

Also other Indian companies who became part of this coveted list are Tata Steel (105), Larsen & Toubro (115), Mahindra & Mahindra (117), HDFC (135), Bajaj Finserv (143), Piramal Enterprises (149), Steel Authority of India (153), HCL Technologies (155), Hindalco Industries (157), Wipro (168), HDFC Bank (204), Sun Pharma Industries (217), General Insurance Corporation Of India (224), ITC (231) and Asian Paints (248).

Some Facts About Infosys

It was founded by Narayana Murthy, in 1981. It recorded a revenue of  US $ 12.1 billion in the last 12 months. They operate in 46 countries with a strength of more than  2,29,000 employees. They have 1,336 happy customer base to cater to. (reference Forbes)
