Design & Build

Both Galaxy M10S and Realme 3 has an all-plastic body with a gradient finish. Both look stylish, are durable and glossy on the out. In terms of overall ergonomics, both do a great job.

They are fingerprint magnets. So using a case is recommended. Realme ships with a good TPU case, Samsung doesn’t.

Display

Realme 3 features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a 720p+ resolution. Galaxy M10 has a 6.4-inch HD+ AMOLED display. Both the smartphones offer good screen space with lesser bezels with a water drop V shaped and circular Infinity U shaped notch respectively.

The 720p HD-only display ks noticeable when you play some high-end game like PUBG.

Realme has an IPS panel only, while Galaxy M10S has a AMOLED panel. In spite of both having HD+ displays, Galaxy M10S will have some definite advantage here given the AMOLED panel.

Hardware

Realme 3 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 coupled with upto 4GB of RAM. Galaxy M10S, on the other hand, comes with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7884B SoC with 3GB of RAM in a single model. Storage on both the smartphones can be expanded with an external memory card.

Both Realme 3 and Note 7 can handle day to day tasks and mid-end games with ease.

Though, built on a more efficient 12nm process, Realme 3 with Helio P70 will offer 40 percent lower power consumption and will offer a more refined performance.

Storage

Realme 3 offers upto 64GB of internal storage with support for expandable memory. In India, Realme 3 is available in two variants: 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage and 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.

Both the Realme 3 variants support expandable storage

Redmi Note 7 on the other hand has also been in a single storage model only: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, but supports expandable storage.

Software

The Galaxy 10S will run Samsung’s own One UI, based on Android 9.0 Pie. Similarly, Realme 3 also runs on the new Color OS 6.0 based on Android Pie. The new Color OS has some upgraded features including a number of tweaks and a near stock Android experience.

As both have their respective UIs, it’s up to you to prefer a particular OS.

Both Samsung and Realme have heavily customised skins, and don’t expect some stock-like experience. The new OneUI though has been tried to transform into a more simple and seamless pattern.

Rear Camera

Realme 3 sports a dual rear camera system consisting of a 13MP f/1.8 primary sensor and a second 2MP depth sensor. In comparison, Samsung Galaxy M10S comes with a 13-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor at the back.

Both the smartphones are capable of capturing some great shots with ample details in good lighting and average low light performance.

The rear camera interfaces are minimal, and in some places the new Galaxy M10S may have a slight edge in details. But, in all, both stand in the same spot. Realme 3 boasts new image processing features for better overall performance irrespective of lighting conditions.

Front Camera

Up front, Samsung Galaxy M10S comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera backed by AI capabilities. Similarly, Realme 3 also has a 13-megapixel single sensor. Both the smartphones can capture some decent wide-angle selfies.

The devices pack in instant editing AI features to enhance selfies.

Battery

Realme 3 has a huge 4,230mAh battery with no support for fast-charging support. It has a USB type port, so no support for fast charging. In comparison, Galaxy M10S comes with a 4,000mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging

Both the smartphones can easily run for a day and even more on a single charge, but M10S with 15W fast charging gets an edge.
