Realme XT Launched In India: World’s First 64MP Camera Phone

Realme XT is here. Just within a few weeks of Realme 5 series release, the company is now ready with the world’s first 64MP camera smartphone. In India, Realme has won the 64MP game for now and it starts at Rs 15,999, available via Flipkart and Realme.com.

Xiaomi will soon be launching the next 64MP smartphone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Realme XT is the company’s third quad camera phone and it comes with a premium glass design. The device has a water-drop AMOLED display, VOOC 3.0 fast charging and Snapdragon 712 chipset, fast charging.

Design & Display

The Realme XT comes with a high-quality glass body, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It does feel premium. The glass sandwich built is backed by some of the striking gradient colour schemes. There’s no rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The colour mixes are stylish, and the smartphone feels very premium. 

The rear camera module sits on the left top without any physical fingerprint sensor. The mid-range flagship comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Realme XT features a 6.4-inch full-screen AMOLED display with a notch. The display is quite vibrant with minimal bezels on the sides with a little chin down under and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. 

Hardware, Software & Storage

Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset has been used for Realme XT. It’s the second Realme smartphone in the country to use the new Qualcomm chip after Realme 5 Pro. Based on an 10nm architecture, it couples with Adreno 616 GPU. Snapdragon 712 is almost 10 per cent faster than Snapdragon 710 chip.

It offers 45 per cent better graphical performance and 2 times better AI performance, helping the Realme smartphone deliver around 25 percent better overall performance.

In terms of daily performance, Realme XT can run almost all tasks and mid-end games without any hiccups. There are different models to choose from with upto 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Realme XT will be offered with 4GB, 6GB and 8GB of RAM along with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage.

Realme XT comes with a dedicated triple card slot that can support two nano SIM cards and a microSD card, unlike the Realme X. Realme XT runs on Android 9 Pie, but with Color OS 6 UI on top. 

Cameras

Realme XT features a rear four camera system. Realme XT is the first 64MP quad camera phone in the country. As the newly launched Realme 5 series, Realme XT comes with a rear quad camera system, powered by the 64MP camera sensor. 

Realme XT has the 64MP Samsung camera sensor as its main lens with three additional sensors for different purposes: an ultra wide-angle sensor, a depth sensor and a 4cm macro sensor. 

The 64MP Samsung GW1 1/1.72? sensor can create shots 1.6 micron individual pixel size using image sensing technology via Tetracell to produce 16-megapixel images in low-light. The Samsung’s 64MP GW1 sensor uses 4-in-1 pixel merging technology to merge four 0.8 micron pixels into a single 1.6-micron pixel to offer detailed images in low light conditions. 

Starting with the setup, it features a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor, an 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, Realme XT has the same 16-megapixel selfie camera as Realme X with HDR and AI beautification as Realme X.

Big Battery & Fast Charging

Realme XT houses a slightly bigger 4,000mAh battery. Compared to Realme 5, it’s slightly smaller, but the smartphone supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging with a Type C powered 20W fast charger included in the box.

Realme XT can charge up the whole device under 80 minutes from 5 to 100 percent. Realme XT can easily last more than a day on heavy usage, and even a day and a half on moderate use.

Pricing

Realme XT in India starts at Rs 15,999 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The mid-end model with 6GB RAM with 64GB at Rs 16,999. The last model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs 18,999.

The first sale of the Realme XT will happen on September 16 via Flipkart and Realme.com.
