Amazon India’s Festive Push: 1400 Delivery Stations, 23,000 Retailers, Partnership With Indian Railways!
All the holidays, festivities and important days in India have always been great opportunities for e-commerce websites to host massive sales and give huge discounts on their platforms!
Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal always jump at such occasions, the recent example was when Flipkart announced its Big Billion Days Sale.
And now, Amazon India has introduced something new: customers can now pick up orders from Mumbai local stations, for which, Amazon Prime has partnered up with the Indian Railways as well.
Amazon has also expanded its delivery and retail network, keeping in mind the boosted requirement of it during the festive days.

Amazon India Partners With Indian Railways; Enables Customers To Pickup From Stations
Amazon India has now come up with a new initiative which will enable customers to pick up their goods from the railway station of Mumbai. For this, Amazon India has partnered with the Indian Railways, which is happy to welcome the e-commerce giant onboard.
Indian Railways expressed its opinions, saying, “Millions of people use the suburban railways as a primary mode of transportation. We welcome this partnership as the launch of Amazon kiosks will help elevate our commuters’ experience at these stations.”
The project will first be introduced at CSTM, Thane, Dadar and Kalyan stations in Mumbai. Amazon Prime plans to set up kiosks for pickup at the railway stations at places where there is high foot traffic that is easily convenient to reach while entering or leaving the railway station.
Amazon India Expands Delivery Stations and Retailers For The Festive Season
Keeping in mind the boost in the number of online orders in the festive season, Amazon India has extended its supply chain network all over the country.
Amazon India has now taken around 1400 delivery stations under its wings and about 23000 retailers to gear up for the festive season. Amazon’s direct delivery service will now be available in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand and West Bengal, of many.
In a statement, Amazon India Vice-President (India Customer Fulfilment) Akhil Saxena said, “In preparation for the festive season this year, we have significantly scaled our delivery programmes and focused our efforts on — widening the reach of our direct delivery network, enabling speed… and improving their delivery experience.”
There is also some speculation that this move by Amazon has been taken to fight with the newest entry in the e-commerce market of India: Reliance.
