Notch-Less Edge To Edge Full-Screen Panoramic Display

The Redmi K20 Pro will come with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED notch-less display. It’s going to be first Xiaomi smartphone in the country to come with a no-notch display. The display will have a screen to body ratio of 91.2 percent offering a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.

It’s the first notch-less smartphone from the Chinese brand, and the fans are excited to see how better Xiaomi has done it.

The Redmi K20 Pro display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating. It’s the same as Redmi Note 7 series smartphones.

In-Display Fingerprint Sensor: The First For Xiaomi In India

Well Xiaomi already has phones available in China with in-display fingerprint sensors, it’s the first time it is bringing a smartphone to India which will have such a sensor embedded inside the display. The Redmi K20 Pro will come with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor beneath.

Given the earlier pricing trends, the Redmi K20 Pro is probably going to be the cheapest smartphone to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Cheapest Snapdragon 855 Smartphone In India

Redmi K20 Pro will run on the latest Qualcomm flagship chip, Snapdragon 855. The SoC is built on an 7nm architecture supporting 5G technology coupled with an Adreno 640 GPU.

Redmi K20 Pro will come with 6GB RAM or 8GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage.

As Poco F1, the Redmi K20 Pro is also going to be next flagship killer in the country. The smartphone will soon take up the crown as the cheapest Snapdragon 855 smartphone in the country.

Triple Rear Camera Combination

Again a first time feature for Xiaomi smartphones in India, the upcoming Redmi K20 Pro is going to be the first Xiaomi smartphone in India to come with a triple rear camera combination. Redmi K20 Pro will come with a pop-up camera on top with three cameras at the back.

The smartphone will feature the Sony 48MP IMX 586 as its primary sensor coupled with a secondary 13MP secondary ultrawide lens and a third 8MP telephoto lens.

With the given set of optics, it can easily challenge some of the higher priced flagships in terms of photography.

Poco F1 being the cheapest flagship matched up the camera performance as iPhone 8. So, we expect the Redmi K20 Pro to repeat some of the same wonders again.

Pop-Up Selfie Sensor Technology

The Redmi K20 Pro will be taking help of a pop-up sensor to offer a full-screen display. A first for the company, Xiaomi will be using a pop-up sensor technology to make space for a no-nonsense notch-less display.

The pop-up sensor will have a 20MP selfie sensor featuring many AI-powered modes and features.

Fast Charging Technology

Redmi K20 will come with the signature 4,000mAh battery running on the latest MIUI 10 based on top of Android 9 Pie. The company has confirmed that the smartphone will ship with fast charging technology supporting upto 27W wired charging speeds.

It’s still not known whether the company will ship a fast charger inside the box or not, but it will support 27W wired fast charging.

The Pricing

Xiaomi will again be hitting some of the top companies hard with its aggressive pricing strategy. Poco F1 killed OnePlus 6 sales and OnePlus lost the top spot in the premium smartphone segment after three straight quarters. Later OnePlus was forced to launch its flagship at a 6 percent price cut than its predecessor, OnePlus 6T.

This never happens, but Xiaomi made it happen.

The company will again be taking up the Indian entry-premium market by storm with Redmi K20 Pro.

Redmi K20 will start at around Rs 26,000 if converted. In India, the company may price it in the same line, and the smartphone will probably start at around Rs 25,000.

Redmi K20 Pro will launch on May 28 alongside the regular Redmi K20.
