Huawei has been taking the ultra-flagship very seriously, and again it has launched two new great phones at stellar prices. Both the new flagships P30 and P30 Pro pack in some of the best specs available in the world.

Huawei P30 Pro is the best camera phone in the world right now with the best DxOMark score.

Launched with some top-end cameras and flagship specs, the third generation Huawei P30 series will go against the likes of top flagship smartphones like Galaxy S10 Plus, iPhone XS Max and Google Pixel 3 XL.

Glass Body & Water Resistant Coating

Both the Huawei P30 smartphones are built on a metal frame sandwiched between glass panes. The striking color combinations do put an impact on gradient finishing. P30 Pro is water resistant and has IP68 rating certification.

While the P30 has IP53 rating only.

OLED Displays With Dot Notches

The base P30 variant comes with a 6.1-inch OLED screen, while the P30 Pro has a  larger OLED display with a 6.47-inch screen. Both the Huawei smartphones pack in a small dot notch on top, similar to Xiaomi Mi 9.

It has in-display fingerprint sensors and speakers.

World’s First 7nm Android Processor

Both Huawei P30 and P30 Pro comes with the Kirin 980 processor, the first 7nm Android processor in the world. Launched first and with Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It’s currently one of the best mobile processors in the world right now.

Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro come with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The P30 smartphones will come with Huawei’s new 40W ultra-fast charging technology. The system will pack in a new cooling system which will help the smartphones stay cool during extended gaming with the help of graphene inside the phones.

They also feature the on-screen fingerprint sensor and an in-screen maglev speaker.

The Cameras

Huawei P30 comes with a triple rear camera system, while the P30 Pro comes with a rear quad camera system. P30 uses Huawei’s own 40-megapixel SuperSpectrum Sensor with an RYYB filter with a f/1.8 lens coupled with a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera with a f2.2 lens and a 8-megapixel zoom camera.

Coming to the P30 Pro, it has a main 40-megapixel camera with a wider f/1.6 aperture coupled with a 20-megapixel wide angle sensor.

There’s a third ToF lens under the flash, and finally the fourth is a periscope. It’s a zoom lens which uses a new technology that offers 135mm focal length (5X zoom) with a 8-megapixel sensor with an f/3.4 aperture.

The Huawei P30 comes with F2.4 lens and 3X optical zoom along with 5X hybrid zoom. It’s a Leica system built in in partnership with Huawei. On the P30 Pro, the Huawei Periscope offers 135mm focal length with 5X zoom) with optical image stabilisation.

P30 Pro offers some great zooming features offering upto a freaking 135mm length with almost clear pictures, that too with OIS.

P30 Pro bas achieved the highest DxOMark camera test score. The Huawei P30 Pro scored 112 points in overall and 119 points in photography. It makes P30 Pro the best camera phone in the world, with the best score ever DxO has evaluated.

Up front, both the P30 and P30 Pro comes with a 32-megapixel camera inside the notch.

Android Pie & New EMUI Features

The new Huawei P30 series run on an improved EMUI 9.1 software. It’s based on the latest Android 9 Pie with some added features and enhancements. Both Huawei P30 and P30 Pro features a new read-only mode which will help the smartphone to offer better performance by increasing the overall speed and responsiveness.

Huawei P30 Pro comes with a bigger 4,200mAh battery. In comparison, the smaller P30 has a 3,650 battery under the hood. Both the smartphones support ultrafast charging technology backed by the company’s in-house 40W chargers.

Pricing & Availability

Both the Huawei P30 phones will be available in certain global markets within a few days. The Huawei P30 starts at Euros 799 (around Rs 55,150) globally. While the P30 Pro starts at Euros 999 (around Rs 77,150). There are other P30 Pro variants available as well.

The P30 Pro with 256GB storage costs Euros 1099 (around Rs 85,300) while the top-end P30 Pro model with 512GB costs Euros 1299 (around Rs 1,00,900).

In India, Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro will be available exclusively via Amazon India. The e-commerce site has already listed a Notify Me page for the P30 and the P30 Pro. The page is live now, and the pre-bookings are also expected to go live very soon on the Amazon India website.

Coming to the Huawei P30 Pro India launch, both P30 and P30 Pro are likely to arrive in mid April.

The P30 Pro India price will vary compared to the global pricing. Both the P30 smartphones will be priced aggressively, and are likely to start at Rs 50,000 for the P30. The Huawei P30 Pro India price may start at around Rs 70,000 targeting other top flagship phones in the range.
