Huawei’s Mate X Launched!

On the eve of MWC Barcelona, which is a four-day showcase of mobile devices, Mate X was introduced to the public, with its innovative foldable screen as well. This smartphone has already received strong competition from Samsung’s Galaxy Fold phone, which comes with two screens, six cameras and opens up to form a tablet of 7.3 inches.

However, Huawei’s Mate X can be easily handled with one hand with a strong enough grip.

Another feature that boosts Mate X’s popularity and anticipation is the 5G service that it offers. It is easily transferable to the 5G network, however, as 5G is not yet available in India, the launch of the phone in India is a distant possibility as of now.

Huawei is rumored to start the sale of the phone beginning mid-2019.

Moving on the more interesting part of a phone:

Features, Specifications, and Price

The Mate X comes with a 6.6-inch display (2,480×1,148-pixel resolution), when folded, which opens up to a massive 8-inch OLED display real estate (2,480×2,200-pixel resolution). The phone has a 4500 mAh battery and 55W Huawei SuperCharge which takes up only 30 minutes to charge for 85 percent battery life from zero percent.

Also, there are three rear cameras, and the screen has omitted the notch, which only adds to the convenience, but there is a selfie camera attached. For the selfie mode, there is a preview option available too, which gives users an idea of how their photo would appear before clicking.  There is a split-screen mode too.

The phone is an 8 GB RAM variant with an internal memory of 512 GB, and the phone functions quite smoothly on Kirin 980 SoC.

The fingerprint sensor has been latched on the power button of the phone, thus saving more space.

Huawei has launched the new Mate X at $2,600 (roughly Rs. 2,09,400) for the 8GB RAM/ 512GB variant.
