Oppo R17 Pro India Launch: Company Teases R-Series Smartphones
Oppo fans are once again excited, because R series can change everything.
Oppo India tweeted on Monday that the company will soon launch a R series smartphone in the country. Among the probables, the much-touted Oppo R17 Pro is expected to launch first.
The company recently has been doing extremely well in the Indian market under its sub-brand Realme.
Oppo R series has been the defining series for the company. Multiple OnePlus flagships have been inspired by the R-series smartphones. The series is known to pack premium hardware, design and top cameras.
Oppo R17 Pro India Launch
OnePlus 6T took a lot from Oppo R17 Pro. The smartphone which was launched a few months back in China. The same smartphone again came to Europe as RX17 Pro. The R-series smartphone currently available globally is Oppo R17 Pro, so it’s highly likely to launch in India as well.
To add to it, Oppo has already been airing ads of the Oppo R17 Pro on different digital streaming platforms available in the country.
Recently the next generation Oppo R19 concept model was leaked showing an in-display front camera as well. In India, Oppo may announce two models of R17, the Oppo R17 Pro and the regular Oppo R17.
Oppo R17 Pro Specs & Features
The Oppo R17 Pro and OnePlus 6T share a lot in common in terms of design and build. Oppo R17 Pro will come with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a water-drop notch on top. It has a 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio in an 19.5:9 screen aspect ratio backed by Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
The device runs on Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, Super VOOC superfast charging support and a triple rear camera setup.
There’s a primary 12-megapixel sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.5 to 2.4) with OIS like Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, 20-megapixel secondary f/1.6 aperture sensor a third Time of Flight (TOF) 3D sensing camera sensor for depth information.
The whole package will be backed by a 3,700 battery.
The smartphone has one of the fastest charging capabilities where Super VOOC can charge the device from 0 to 40 percent in under 10 minutes. The standard Oppo R17 has similar specs other than a dual camera setup and Snapdragon 670 SoC.
Oppo R17 Pro Price In India
The Oppo R17 Pro has a single model available which costs CNY 4,299 in China (around Rs 43,750). The regular Oppo R17 has two models available. The base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs CNY 3,199 (around Rs 32,550).
While the higher variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs CNY 3,499 (around Rs 35,550). The Oppo R17 Pro is expected to cost somewhere around 40,000 rupees or more. However, the regular Oppo R17 models is expected to be priced under the 40,000 segment.
Coming to the India launch, Oppo R17 Pro may launch by the end of December, or maybe early 2019.
