Redmi Note 6 Pro vs Realme 2 Pro: In-Depth Comparison
Xiaomi is yet to confirm the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro in the country, but as per the reports, it may launch sooner than expected.
Display
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will come with a slightly bigger 6.26-inch Full HD+ notched display in a 19:9 aspect ratio. While Realme 2 Pro has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display in an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, it has an added advantage. So, Redmi Note 6 Pro has a standard notch, and Realme 2 Pro has a water-drop notch.
Realme 2 Pro has thinner bezels and larger display, and the water-drop notch has paved way for a higher screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware
Redmi Note 6 Pro will get powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, and Realme 2 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 660. So it’s a clear choice between the two in terms of performance.
The Snapdragon 660 is a top-tier mid-range processor which will offer impressive performance under high power for top games and heavy tasks.

Storage
There are three variants available for Realme 2 Pro: 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. While Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has been launched in Indonesia in two variants of 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. Xiaomi is yet to confirm the variants, but probably the 32GB model won’t launch in the country.
On both the handsets, the storage can be expanded with the help of an external microSD card.
Software
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will run latest MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo based out of the box. Realme 2 Pro runs on Color OS 5.2 based on Android Oreo 8.1 UI.
So, in term of user experience, both the smartphones have their own UI with respective bloatware. Each has a clean interface with some minor tweaks.
Android 9.0 Pie upgrade is expected soon on both headsets as well.

Rear Camera
Redmi Note 6 Pro is the first Xiaomi phone to come with four cameras. The smartphone will come with a rear dual camera system comprising of a 12-megapixel primary 1.4?m pixel sensor coupled with a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor.
Realme 2 Pro has a rear dual camera setup as well, comprising of a 16-megapixel primary f/1.7 sensor paired with a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor.
Redmi Note 6 Pro has the same camera as Note 5 Pro. Both the cameras produce clearer pictures, but Realme 2 Pro will stay ahead in terms of detailing, color accuracy, contrast, low light photography and overall imaging capabilities.
Front Camera
Up front, Redmi Note 6 Pro will come with a dual camera setup as well. The front will get to see a 20 megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor coupled with a secondary 2-megapixel sensor. While Realme 2 Pro comes has a single 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will have an edge here with an additional sensor, but the smartphones will perform well in good lighting.
Connectivity
Both Realme 2 Pro and Redmi Note 6 Pro come with a similar set of standard connectivity features. Both the phones come with fingerprint sensor, face unlock, an infrared sensor, dual 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and other features.

Battery
Redmi Note 6 Pro come has a 4,000mAh battery without any support for fast-charging. On the other hand, Realme 2 Pro has a 3,500 mAh battery backing the package. Realme 2 Pro supports fast-charging but doesn’t ship with a fast-charging brick in the box.
The smartphones are expected to run for almost similar periods, depending on the software optimizations and user involvement.
Pricing: Redmi Note 6 Pro vs Realme 2 Pro
Redmi Note 6 Pro has been launched in Thailand at 6,990 Baht, which translates to around INR 15,500. In India, Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected to cost the same as Redmi Note 5 Pro or even lower.
Realme 2 Pro is cheaper and starts at just Rs 13,990 for the base variant.
Considering how Realme 2 Pro has been priced, Xiaomi will have to work on its price. It can’t go wrong yet again as it did with Mi A2, which failed to create the magic like its so-successful predecessor.
