Airtel Launches all-in-one services management Mobile app
Its all about Mobile Apps these days isn’t it?
Airtel has become the latest Indian company to launch its own mobile app that will allow customers to manage various Airtel services like postpaid, prepaid mobile connection, broadband, fixedline and digital TV, seamlessly. If you are a Airtel customer of any one of these services, “My Airtel” app should be on your mobile phone.
And Airtel has not catered to only one Mobile OS platform, but have released the app on nearly all platforms. Customers can can download the application from “My Airtel” website or visiting their device app store (Android, Blackberry ). Alternatively, they can also SMS ‘myairtel’ to 54321 or via a QR code.
The My Airtel app allows customers to manage various services (mobile, fixed line, dth etc) which include checking their outstanding bills, recharging their accounts, making payments, activating or deactivating any service; raising requests or complaints. The Airtel digital TV customers can also order movies and games, without any assistance from the customer care.
How My Airtel App works?
Once user has downloaded the app, the first thing he has to do is associate mobile number with various Airtel services that he wants to manage. Customers will immediately be able to start managing all Airtel services that already have same number associated with their account.
Airtel has done really well by offering an all-in-one service management dashboard for its customers. By not keeping it limited to just their mobile services, they have ensured that millions of their users will be benefitted by this app. No wonder, that Airtel’s app on Android alone has crossed 50,000 downloads within a day of being launched.
Unfortunately, I am not an Airtel customer for any of their services, so I am unable to try the app first hand – However, I am looking forward to companies like Idea and Tata to bring similar application – that would really cut down on lot of time and effort which I currently spend managing their accounts.

Having said that, I think, given that Airtel has released it just couple of days back, the app will improve in coming days.
Like I mentioned in the article the best thing I liked about the app is that they have bought all the different services of airtel under one app…which is really great..
Only time will tell how users will actually use it..
I’d install and try my hand at the MyAirTel app today. The app isn’t really impressive as I expected it to be. However, I hope the future versions will improve the feature set and speed of execution.
