The state run Telecom Operator – BSNL – also has now joined the “app store” bandwagon. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) yesterday officially announced the launch of its own mobile applications store – BSNL Apps Store.
So, going forward any of the BSNL Pan India customers can access & download applications from App store and add various functionalities to their phone.
BSNL App store supposedly has over 4500 mobile apps already, in various categories including entertainment, news, finance, horoscope, sports and others. BSNL app store also has host of regional language applications for customers throughout India.
The best part is – BSNL App store is integrated with the Operator billing itself – whether pre-paid or post paid. BSNL user has to just select and download the app on his / her phone and the cost of the app will be added to the bill or for prepaid customers it will be deducted from their balance. BSNL app store has mix of free as well as paid apps. Some of the paid apps are priced even lower than Rs. 10, which will make BSNL app store offering quite attractive to all users.
How to access BSNL App Store ?
BSNL user’s mobile phone needs to atleast have GPRS facility activated – Using GPRS, user can visit BSNL Live WAP Portal. A “BSNL Apps Store” icon is available on the BSNL Live Home page for you to access the various applications.
Also, the BSNL app store is intelligent enough to understand the mobile handset you are using, and will accordingly display the apps that are compatible with user’s phone.
