Late Investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s Akasa Airlines Launched: Check Current Routes, Fares & More

The Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed new airline Akasa Air has taken to the Indian skies, beginning operations from Aug 7, 2022 on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route.

Currently, this is the first flight route the newbie airline chose and will offer a ticket price of Rs 5,603 to passengers choosing the route for the date of travel between Aug 7-17.

The airline company has said that it will rapidly add more flights to its existing fleet with time.

Akasa Air Begins Operations

Akasa Air started its first flight on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route and has said that from Aug 7, it will operate 26 flights between the two cities in a week’s time.

The fare for fliers on this route from Akasa Air will be at Rs 5,603, and after that until the whole of September, the one-way fares charged on this route will slide down to Rs 2,848.

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister V.K. Singh  inaugurated the first commercial flight of Akasa Air on Sunday, stated news reports.

Scindia added that the airline company will play a major role in providing customer service besides playing an essential role in market share.

More Routes for Akasa Air

As per the information provided on the airline’s official website, the flights have began operations on the Bangalore-Kochi route too, starting Aug 12.

One way fare from Bangalore to Kochi will cost a flier Rs 4,375 on Aug 12, dropping to Rs 3,903 for date of travel Aug 13.

Between Aug 14-17, the fare will begin from Rs 3,693.

For days after Aug 17 to the whole of September, a flight from Bangalore to Kochi will cost Rs 1,983.

Vice-versa, from Kochi to Bangalore, one way ticket price is Rs 3,492 from Aug 12-17, and for the remaining days in the month to whole of Sept, the ticket will cost Rs 2,485/passenger.

Bangalore-Mumbai Route

Akasa Air flights will begin operations on the Bangalore-Mumbai route from Aug 19 and 28 flights will be operational on the route every week.

Prices will begin from Rs 4,515/flier from Bangalore to Mumbai and Rs 3,839 from Mumbai to Bangalore.
