Indigo Flights Disrupted Across India Because Their Employees Are Applying At Air India!

Of all the domestic flights by IndiGo operated on on Saturday, only 45.2% of IndiGo’s domestic flights operated on time as per the data from the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s website. The reason behind the delay was the non-availability of crew members.

On Saturday, the on-time performances of Air India, SpiceJet, Vistara, Go First and AirAsia India was 77.1%, 80.4%, 86.3%, 88% and 92.3%, respectively.

IndiGo Acknowledged the Delay

Regarding the delays, IndiGo responded saying “We never wish to disrupt our passengers’ travel plans. The delay was due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft which disrupted the rotation of the aircraft. We hope you will understand that many factors are beyond our control that determines our flight schedule”.

The budget carrier said in another tweet “We regret the delay. Your flight is expected to depart by 1125 hrs. Our team is trying its best to get you to your destination ASAP. Please hang in there”.

DGCA Sought Clarification For Delay

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) took strong cognizance against IndiGo after the update and sought clarification for the delays.

Quoting various sources, News agency PTI reported that a significant number of IndiGo crew members had taken sick leaves to go to an Air India recruitment drive.

Notably, The phase-2 of Air India’s recruitment drive was conducted on Saturday.

After successfully winning the bid for the airline on 8 October last year, the Tata Group took control of Air India on 27 January. Air India has started a recruitment drive for fresh cabin crew members as it is planning to buy new planes and improve its services.
