  • TIME magazine has named Businessman and Industrialist Gautam Adani, Supreme Court advocate Karuna Nundy, and Khurram Parvez who is a Kashmiri human rights activist have been named among the world’s 100 most influential people of 2022.

Adani has been mentioned under the Titans category along with Apple CEO Tim Cook and American host Oprah Winfrey. TIME magazine said that India is going through an unprecedented concentration of economic and political power that reinforce one another and called Adani “the poster boy” of the first.

Businessman Gautam Adani, Supreme Court advocate Karuna Nundy, and Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez are all in the list of the world’s 100 most influential people of 2022 by TIME magazine.

An advocate of women’s rights, Nundy has relentlessly fought for the improvement of anti­rape laws and taken up cases relating to sexual harassment in the workplace.

“Karuna also takes great pains to explain legal issues in a way that engages the media and public. She can discuss the law simply and deftly. By doing so she creates an accessible discourse about rights in a time when those rights are at risk,” TIME magazine stated.

Khurram Parvez is the chairperson of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances. TIME magazine mentioned that he was arrested in November 2021. The magazine said that he had to be silenced, for his voice that resonated across the world for his fierce fight against human rights violations and injustices in the Kashmir region. 

The 100 people were divided into categories like Pioneers, Icons, Titans, Artists, Leaders and Innovators. Top global leaders include US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine, and President Xi Jinping. Some of the Titans include Apple CEO, Tim Cook, US television show host Oprah Winfrey and Indonesian Michelle Yeoh; Icons included tennis pro Rafael Nadal, while Artists included tennis pro Rafael Nadal, while Artists included actors Mila Kunis and Sarah Jessica Parker.
