Price Hiked

This will be the third purchase window after the company launched the electric scooters last year.

The S1 Pro model’s price has been hiked by Rs 10,000.

The reason is not yet known.

This is the first price hike the company has introduced since the debut last year in August.

The Ola Electric S1 Pro now comes at a price of  Rs 1.40 lakh.

Only S1 Pro Available

It should be noted that only the S1 Pro is for sale due to the shortage in production of the base model.

Ola announced earlier that it will only manufacture the S1 Pro.

CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced the news on Twitter while promising that deliveries of these scooters will be done in ‘hyper mode’.

It has already started test ride camps in five cities.

The prospective customers who have booked the scooter will be intimated by email.

Purchase Process

The process of buying the vehicle is entirely online through its dedicated app.

Customers get to choose the model, colour and add delivery location as well as finance their electric scooters through the app.

Software Update, New Features

The new scooters come with Ola Electric’s latest Move OS2 software updates.

It adds features like mobile connectivity, a new mobile app, a navigation system and a new ECO mode that increases the overall range.

Ola Electric will release the final version of the software in the coming weeks.

Specifications

The S1 Pro is powered by an 8.5 kW electric motor which produces 58 Nm of peak torque output and helps the scooter reach a top speed of 115 km/h in the Hyper riding mode (one of the three riding modes).

The smaller 3.97 kWh battery claims a maximum riding range of 181 km in the Eco mode.

It takes 6.5 hours for a full charge using the 750 W charger provided with the scooter.

It comes with a real-world mileage claim of 131 kms.

It has a top speed of 115 kmph and can go from stationary to 100 kmph in three seconds.

Free Scooter Contest

Aggarwal also announced a contest in which customers can win a free Gerua scooter.

He said that a free Gerua scooter is up for grabs for those who cross 200 km range in a single charge.

The winners will be hosted at the Futurefactory in June to take their delivery.
