Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, has scheduled to launch five new SUVs for the Indian market this year. 

This list includes the fourth-generation Tucson, Creta facelift, updated Venue, new Kona EV and Ioniq 5 electric crossover. 

Till the time they grace the Indian market, let’s go through the key details of the upcoming Hyundai cars.

Hyundai Tucson

 In the coming months, Hyundai’s flagship SUV, Tucson is all  ready to enter into its new generation in the Indian market.

 The SUV’s new model will be available with 7-seats configuration only, as per the reports. 

It will be 150mm longer and 15mm wider than the existing model. 

Reports confirm that its wheelbase will also be increased by 85mm. 

Beside this, major cosmetic and feature upgrades are also likely to be made in this vehicle. 

Although the engine setup is likely to remain unchanged, it might be equipped with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

2022 Hyundai Venue and Venue N-Line 

This new launch for Hyundai are reported to hit roads next month (i.e. May). 

Its exterior will feature the new parametric grille borrowed from the new Tucson. 

 The compact SUV will have its front bumper placed slightly lower, the new rectangular shaped headlamps adding more to its freshly designed front fascia. 

It might come with an updated touchscreen infotainment system and a new BlueLink connected car tech. 

Notably, there are no changes expected to be made under the hood.

So, it will continue to come with the 1.2L NA petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel motor options.

New Hyundai Creta

The top-selling SUV from Hyundai is all set to receive its first mid-life update in India. 

This model is most likely to arrive in the second half of 2022 and will feature Hyundai’s new Sensuous Sportiness design language and the new signature parametric grille. 

Design bits will add more to its refreshing looks with new DRLs, updated front bumper with slimmer wider air-inlet, newly-designed LED taillamps and a revised tailgate design. 

Who knows, the Creta might receive ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with several new goodies. 

This facelift will continue to feature the 1.5L NA petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines.

New Hyundai Kona

This facelift is expected to hit the showrooms towards the end of this year. 

It will receive major update in the form of a larger battery along with the existing 39.2kWh battery pack and 136bhp electric motor setup. 

Coming to features, the new Kona will have a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, updated BlueLink connected car tech, safe exit warning and blindspot assistant. 

Exterior of this electric SUV will feature newly-designed headlamps, new alloys, updated bumpers and wheel arches in body color finish. 

The new one will have less body cladding in comparison with the current model.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Speculations suggest that  the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover will witness a launch in the last weeks of October 2022. 

Further, the model will come via CKD route and then assembled at the company’s Chennai-based plant. 

The Price range will be between Rs 35 lakh – Rs 40 lakh. 

Coming to the Powertrain system, it will include a 58kWh battery pack with a single 125kWh electric motor that delivers a range of 384kms. 

The electric crossover offers a peak power of 168bhp and 350Nm of torque with RWD (rear-wheel drive) system. 

The company might also offer the Ioniq 5’s longer-range variant with a 72.6kWh battery pack.
