The number of COVID-19 infected patients is on the rise in India yet again, and we live in the fear of suffering from a fourth wave.

And now, the government of Uttar Pradesh has announced that employees infected with the Chinese virus will be given leave for one month.

UP Government Announces 1 Month Casual Leave For COVID-19 Infected Employees

The UP Government has issued a letter on April 18, wherein instructions have been issued to sanction special casual leave for employees. As mentioned in the letter, “Employees infected with Covid can be given a maximum of a 1-month casual leave.”

The letter also states that if the employee passes on the infection to anyone living with him/her or in the area, then that employee will be given a leave of 21 days.

Earlier this month, the Uttar Pradesh government had given relaxation in wearing face masks considering the improving COVID-19 situation.

Masks Mandatory in UP Again

Considering a rise in Covid cases in some adjoining states, the Uttar Pradesh government made it compulsory for people to wear a face mask in public places in capital Lucknow and six NCR districts on Monday.

It seems that the increase in Covid cases has had an impact on the districts falling under the national capital region (NCR).

So, the government has made use of masks mandatory in public places in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat as well as capital Lucknow, according to an official.

The official said that in the last 24 hours, 65 new Covid cases have been confirmed in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 20 in Ghaziabad, and 10 in Lucknow.

So the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered “close monitoring” of the situation, he said.
