Toyota has introduced the Innova EV concept at the Indonesia International Motor Show.

It is based on the current-gen Innova Crysta sold in India.

Despite similarity in overall design looks, the electric MPV gets its own flair thanks to a completely closed off front grille, with the front bumper slightly altered.

Exterior, Appearance

The EV concept receives visual changes such as a signature design element on EVs and a dedicated ‘Electric’ badge denoting its EV credentials.

The rear indicates that the car will be equipped with a battery-powered motor since it is adorned by the ‘Electric’ and ‘Innova EV’ branding.

Other features spotted include:

  • Blue inserts for the LED headlamps and tail lights
  • LED fog lights, new six-spoke alloy wheels
  • Black cladding all around
  • Innova EV stickers on the D-pillar
  • New decals across the doors and front fender
  • Charging socket that replaces the fuel filler tank

Interior

The similarities between the EV and its ICE counterpart gets carried over with the three-spoke steering wheel, 8-inch infotainment system and MID remaining pretty much the same.

Additional features include new colors for the MID and the infotainment unit displaying EV-specific information like the power output, range and battery level.

The main changes come under the hood, with the internal combustion engine being swapped out for an all-electric powertrain.

Not Hybrid

The lack of air ducts for ventilation rules out the possibility of the car being a hybrid.

That is the extent of the details known thus far.

Details regarding production, launch or pricing is nil at the moment.

But the new Innova Crysta has been spotted testing in India.

The standard Innova Crysta retails from Rs 17.30 lakh to Rs 25.32 lakh.
