Ola Electric Scooter Owners Are Angry & Upset Due To Battery, After Sales Services

A few Ola Electric scooter owners have used social media to share problems they are facing with their new e-scooters and the after sales support.

The electric scooters did not live you to their hype

Ola Electric released the electric scooter pair namely, S1 and S1 Pro in India in 2021. The e-scooters garnered a large amount of hype. More than 80,000 orders were received by the company within a month of their launch! But, deliveries were very slow, and many owners are facing big problems already.

Owners sharing their problems on social media

A few Ola Electric scooter owners have shared their problems on social media. One person, named Devinder Dhillon, has claimed that his scooter’s battery died just a day after delivery. The scooter can’t be charged and the instrument display isn’t working. The owner is concerned that the company has no proper service network, so the problems can’t be easily rectified.

Ola Electric’s home service model may provide greater convenience to customers in theory. The reality seems very different. Another owner, D Rajasekhar Raju, talked about his frustration with the company’s after sales support online. He said that he’d had multiple calls, which only resulted in a huge talk time and his scooter still has problems. The customer claims that the customer support has not been of any help at all.

A few owners had earlier faced battery issues as well, while a few others had quality-related issues. These reports are also available online. Due to the hype, Ola Electric has managed to get a lot of bookings, but the company is struggling to fulfil orders. The company had missed delivery deadlines a few times and when they began deliveries in December it was at a glacial pace.

Previously this month, Ola Electric claimed to have delivered over 7,000 electric scooters to customers, with the aim to complete 15,000 by the end of this month. Notably, the delivered scooters were missing a lot of features that were to be included in the package.

Software release might provide promised features

Ola Electric is going to release MoveOS 2.0 software soon. This will be available to customers through the OTA updates. The company is claiming that this new software will have the previously-promised features, like turn-by-turn navigation, scooter location sharing, locating nearby charging stations, and cruise control. A complementary app for the scooter will also be made available finally.
