Cars are very often inspired by other models and companies, especially when these models are a part of a partnership or alliance.

For instance, the first variant of the Toyota Glanza has been inspired by the Maruti Baleno. However, now, both cars have seen a great number of upgrades and are quite different now, except for their features, powertrains, and variant division.

Let’s look at some of the major differences between the two cars, Toyota Glanza and Maruti Baleno:

Contents

Grille

The new Glanza comes with a distinct front end styling that is quite different from the new Baleno. Whereas, the Toyota hatchback is slimmer and has a simpler grille design with a single chrome strip, with the company’s badge in the centre.

The Baleno also gets Maruti’s new Nexa design language, i.e., the grille design with the hexagonal pattern.

Front Bumper

The front bumper of the Toyota Glanza has a sporty air dam with a black cladding from the top of the dam to the chin. The bumper of the Baleno sports horizontal slats in the air dam that are connected to the fog lamp housing on both the ends of the bumper. The Baleno’s bumper styling gives the car a premium look rather than a sporty one like the Glanza.

Headlights

The design of headlights on both the cars is the same with a difference of light signature. The highest variant of the Baleno comes with a three-part LED daytime running light, and the Toyota hatchback Glanza has an L-shaped LED DRL.

Alloy wheels

The alloy wheel design on both the cars is different, offering them a distinguished look. Each of them have 16 inch wheels, but the Glanza has a 4-split-spoke appearance, and the Baleno wheels come with a 5-split-spoke design.

Interior colour theme

The Maruti Baleno has a slight blue color in the almost completely black cabin, and Toyota Glanza comes with a beige and black cabin. However, the dashboard design and feature-set for the new Glanza and Baleno is the same.

The Toyota Glanza has been priced between Rs 6.39 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi prices). Whereas, the Baleno is priced between Rs 6.35 lakh to Rs 9.49 lakh,
