iOS 16 release date has been tipped, will happen in late Q2 2022. Apple will announce it in this year’s WWDC conference, scheduled for June. The upcoming iOS 16 is tipped to feature VR capabilities, and among the older Apple generation devices, iOS 16 may not support iPhone 6S series this time. The iPhones with an A10 chip will be the minimum build to run the next generation iOS 16.
As per iPhonesoft, the older iPhones as iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and first-generation iPhone SE will not support iOS 16 and among iPads it won’t run on iPad mini-4, iPad Air 2, 5th gen iPad and the 2015 iPad Pro.
In 2019 with iOS 13 when Apple dropped support for the iPhone 6 series and other older iPhone and iPad models, and next year we’ll see the iPhone 6S series exiting the iOS 16 support list. Coming to iOS 16 features, a bunch of exciting additions are expected. It is already tipped to feature VR capabilities, which the older Apple devices will not support hence iPhones with an A10 chip is needed to run iOS 16.
Coming to iPhone SE 3 launch, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported Apple’s first virtual event of 2022 will happen in either March or April, where the upcoming iPhone SE 2022 will be unveiled.
Apart from the new iPhone SE 3 launch, Apple will reportedly also announce the new 27-inch iMac and high-end Mac mini models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips at the same virtual event. iPhone SE 2022 will feature the same old design to offer nostalgia to users.
iPhone SE 3 aka iPhone SE 2022 will come with a similar design as the predecessor, the iPhone SE 2020 with no design changes.
The iPhone SE 2024 will see a design change with a body as iPhone XR / iPhone 11 with a slightly smaller screen size, tipster Dylan tweeted. iPhone SE 4 is expected to release in 2024. For 2022, Apple will launch iPhone SE 3 with 5G and the same design as the old 2020 model. iPhone SE 3 trial production will start soon, and will launch in the first quarter.
An earlier DigiTimes report suggested the iPhone SE third-generation, iPhone SE 3 / iPhone SE 2022 will be unveiled by March next year, the production timeline for Apple’s international markets suggest Q1 2022.
Apple will source all the components for iPhone SE 2022, and each component supplier is already getting ready for shipments.
The upcoming iPhone SE will retain the same iPhone 8-like design with the glass sandwiched body, which was there in the iPhone SE 2020.
iPhone SE 3 5G connectivity is being speculated at the same time, and sources confirm the same. The upcoming iPhone SE 2022 will ship with the 4.7-inch LCD panel, expected to come in iPhone 8 body.
Apple is said to be working on a number of new phones apart from iPhone 14 series which also includes the most affordable iPhone in 2022 and a new iPhone 14 Max. iPhone SE 2022 price has been earlier tipped as well, and may start at $499 (around Rs 36,400).
iPhone SE 2022 price in India may stay less than Rs 40,000 given the company’s push to manufacture more phones in the country. iPhone SE 3 will essentially be iPhone SE 2022 offering some significant upgrades over iPhone SE (2020) and the original iPhone SE. iPhone SE 2022 launch date is yet to be officially confirmed, as of now expected by late Q1, March the probable month.
