Would you believe us if we told you that a particular kind of tea has been sold for Rs. 99,999 per kg?

Yes, this is true! A specialty tea in Assam has been auctioned for Rs. 99,999 per kg, the highest bid in a tea auction.

Manohari Gold Tea Bought For Rs. 99999 Per Kilogram!

The Manohari Gold Tea has broken its own record that was set earlier, and has been bought by Saurav Tea Traders at an auction at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre. Last year, this tea was sold at Rs. 75000 per kg, which is the highest in the year at the same centre.

Rajan Lohia, owner of Manohari Tea Estate said, “Our 1 kg Gold Tea was auctioned at ? 99,999 at Guwahati Tea Auction centre on Tuesday morning. We give importance to quality, we don’t compromise with quality. Today, we are very happy because once again we brought glory for Assam tea.”

As per Lohia, the tea has been made with  small bud with finest clove P-126. The company plans to produce 10 kg of Gold tea every year, but this year, it produced 2 kg of Gold Tea. He stated that the weather and soil quality of Assam is perfect for tea.

Tea Quality To Save Tea Industry Of Assam

He also talked about the tea industry crisis, saying, “Only quality tea can save the tea industry of Assam. Assam tea is famous in the world because of its rich quality”.

The Manohari Tea Estate is spanned across 1000 acres of land, and the employee headcount is 600.

1 kg of the same brand of tea was auctioned for Rs. 39000 in 2018 and also bought by Saurabh Tea Traders, the same trader who has bought the one kg tea for Rs. 99,999. One year later, the same company bought a kilogram of that tea for an auction price of Rs. 50000

In 2020, 1 kg of the tea was sold for Rs. 75000, and Vishnu Tea Company won the bid.
