5 Upcoming Maruti SUVs, Sedans That Will Challenge Hyundai, Kia, Tata In India

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki Industries Limited is now coming up with some new cars for the Indian automobile market! Let’s discuss five of these upcoming SUVs and Sedans by Maruti Suzuki:

Baleno Facelift

The new Baleno will get a complete makeover with new headlamps and tail lamps, bumpers, alloy wheels, and a new front grille. The car will also come in different color variants, but will likely retain the signature Nexa Blue color which lends it a certain distinctness. There likely won’t be any changes to its dimensions. The car will probably be launched in February 2022. There will be a new dashboard, with a new larger touchscreen infotainment system that will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

New Alto 800

According to the rumors, the new generation Maruti Alto 800 is to be based on the new HEARTECT platform. Also said to underpin the new WagonR and the soon-to-be-launched new-gen Celerio hatchback. It is also expected to improve NVH levels, handling and the power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle. In addition to that, it is also likely to receive major design changes and an all-new interior. The top-spec model is expected to receive a touchscreen infotainment system along with smartphone connectivity such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 

All-new S-Cross

The premium SUV gets a redesigned front grille reminiscent of the XL6. It gets a glossy finish along with bold mesh. The headlamps consist of multiple LED lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The bonnet gets a muscular redesign along with large air intakes and neatly positioned fog lamps. It will be powered by a 1.4-liter DITC engine paired with the automaker’s 48-volt SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The tech minimizes fuel consumption and also assists in acceleration. It has a power output of 129 PS at 5,500 rpm and 235 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. The electric motor on board can generate 13.59 PS of power and 50 Nm of torque.

Jimny 5-door

The new 5 door version has been codenamed as YWD, as per the reports. Starting this month, quotation requests have been sent to parts supplier while the sketch of this new 5 door Maruti Jimny has been finalized. Suzuki is planning the launch date for some time in July 2022.The 5-door Indian variant will have design similar to that of a 3 door. The current generation’s sports signature elements of design include round headlamps, circular fog lamps, five slat front grille and integrated tail lights at rear bumper. It carries its usual boxy silhouette complemented by 16-inch hubless alloy wheels.

All-new Vitara Brezza

The new Vitara Brezza is expected to hit showrooms in the first quarter of 2022. However, there has been no official notification of Vitara’s arrival in India. According to a recent media source, the Maruti Vitara Brezza would be equipped with the company’s new BS6-compliant 1.5L diesel engine in 2022. It will have a more powerful electric motor and a larger battery pack. A 6-speed automatic gearbox might be installed and the 5-speed manual transmission will be standard on all models.
