D-mart Profit Increases By 110% In Last 90 Days; 8 New Stores Launched

Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which operates the DMart chain of retail stores, has reported consolidated profit after tax of Rs 418 crore for the quarter ended September 2021, an increase of 110% from Rs 199 crore in the same quarter the previous year.

Consolidated revenue for the quarter with 46.79 per cent YoY to Rs 7,789 crore.

So before counting the company’s interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) for the quarter were Rs 669 crore, up from Rs 330 crore in the previous quarter.

In the September quarter, the Ebitda margin increased 240 basis points year over year to 8.6%, up from 6.2% the previous quarter. Also PAT margin increased 160 basis points year over year to 5.3 per cent from 3.7 per cent.

“Covid-19 related lockdown restrictions were eased further during this quarter. Revenue in the DMart stores grew by 46.6 per cent over the corresponding quarter of last year. Two years and older DMart stores grew by 23.7 per cent in September 2021 as compared to September 2020. We have 187 stores that are 2 years or older,”
