Government To Grant 31% Dearness Allowance To Central Government Employees

Recently, we reported that central employees have now started receiving a dearness allowance of 28%  from September. But newest reports have suggested that the government will soon be given dearness allowance of June by adding it to the DA as well.

The arrears of 18 months will now be awarded to the employees, who will receive a dearness allowance of 31%, instead of 28%.

This signifies an increase of 3%; however, the dearness allowance of June 2021 hasnt been decided yet. As per the data by AICPI for January to May 2021, 3% dearness allowance will be increased further. JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra has revealed that it is too soon to announce it. Also, it hasn’t been decided when it will be paid. 

The Central Government has removed the ban on freezing dearness allowance for the last 18 months. This means that the DA of the employees has now been hiked by 11%. For about eighteen months now, the Dearness Allowance for central government employees and Dearness Relief for central government pensioners for three pending installments has been suspended.

Which Employees Will Receive Promotion?

As per latest reports, the Central Government has accepted the request for the promotion of some Central Government employees. The officers have been promoted to the rank of Under Secretary/Deputy Secretary. Additionally, this promotion will also increase the salary of central employees from  Rs 25,350 to Rs 29,500.

The order by the government states, “The officers of the Indian Railways have been promoted under the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.”

The order will be issued by the Personnel Department of the Central Government after the approval of  President Ram Nath Kovind. The order states that the the officers of the Railway Board Secretariat Service (RBSS), Railway Board Secretariat Stenographer Service (RBSSS) were to be promoted this year. These officers’ salaries were to be increased by Rs. 15000 per month. The base salary of these officers is Rs. 67700, and with the hike, they will soon get Rs 78,800 per month.

The government has already issued orders to increase the basic salary, DA, transport allowance, HRA and other allowances.
