Google Pixel 5a launch date has been tipped, said to happen in August. Pixel 5a sale is said to start in the same month. The upcoming Pixel mid-ranger was previously being expected in June, but the upcoming Google phone is now said to arrive late, in August, as per popular analyst Mark Gurman with Bloomberg.
Google will follow the same strategy with Pixel 5a as the previous generation Pixel 4a in 2021, no fancy features, just a budget pricing with some really good specs on-board.
Google entered the midrange segment first with Pixel 3a in 2019, and then took the market by storm with Pixel 4a last year.
In spite of being affordable, the mid-range Pixel phones became a natural choice for people looking for mid-range phones with good cameras. The single-camera sensors on Pixel 3a and Pixel 4a produced stunning pictures with some amazing low light photography.

Pixel 4a came with Snapdragon 730G chipset, an upgrade over Snapdragon 670 SoC on Pixel 3a.
Pixel 5a is said to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G budget 5G chipset, the one which was launched with OnePlus Nord CE recently. The device will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. Pixel 5a battery may see a little jump in capacity too. The device will ship with a 3,840 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support. The software as always will be the latest, Pixel 5a will run on Android 12 out of the box.

Pixel 5a price will remain in the budget category, expected to start at around $349 (around Rs 25,300) globally. Pixel 5a price in India is also expected in the same bracket as the current Pixel 4a. Pixel 5a price should be between Rs 30,000 to Rs 32,000 in the country for the single variant. Pixel 5a India availability will be confirmed later. As of now, Pixel 5a in India is not expected before August.
Last year, Pixel 4a launch in India took really long. Expect a similar timeline for Pixel 5a India availability given Google’s slow release in different nations apart from the US.
