Automakers have changed their product strategy for the Indian market in response to increased demand for SUVs.

Citroen C21
With the all-new C3 Sporty, French automaker Citroen will enter the sub-4-meter SUV sector.
The new compact SUV, codenamed C21, will debut in the second half of 2021. The new vehicle will be built on the CMP (Common Modular Platform) developed by Groupe PSA, which also underlies the Peugeot 208.
It will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The C21 could also receive India’s first 1.2-litre flex-fuel engine.
Tata HBX
The production version of Tata Motors’ HBX concept would be unveiled in the second half of 2021, just in time for Diwali.
The new vehicle will be built on the ALFA modular platform, which already serves as the foundation for the Altroz hatchback.
Tata said the manufacturing version of the HBX will stick to the original concept.
This engine has a power output of 86 bhp and a torque output of 113 Nm. It could also get a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with around 100 horsepower. A 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT are likely to be available transmission options.

New Maruti Brezza
The SUV could debut around the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022. It will be built on a more advanced version of Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform, allowing Maruti engineers to incorporate modern technologies.
The new Brezza will get the advanced infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, factory-fitted sunroof, connected car tech, cruise control and others.
The SUV will have a stronger hybrid system with the existing 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine.
Hyundai AX1
Hyundai will launch an all-new mini SUV model, dubbed AX1, in the micro SUV segment.
The compact SUV will debut in Korea in the second half of 2021, with a launch in India scheduled for early 2022.
The 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine seen in the Grand i10 Nios will be available in the upcoming Hyundai small SUV.
The motor has a peak output of 83 bhp and a torque of 114 Nm. The Santro’s 1.1L 3-cylinder petrol engine might be used in the mini SUV’s lesser trim levels.
