400% Increase In Medical Reimbursement Limit For These Govt Employees!


According to the circular, the ceiling now stands at Rs 25,000 from the earlier Rs 5,000. 

Central govt employees at Navodaya Vidyalaya School (NVS) will receive a hike in reimbursement of medical claims, as announced by the govt.

New Revisions

A circular has been issued with regards to the development by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education.

The ceiling for pre-audit of medical reimbursement claims has been raised for general treatment undertaken by the employees themselves or their dependents.

According to the circular, the ceiling now stands at Rs 25,000 from the earlier Rs 5,000. 

It should be noted that this is applicable only if treatment is done at a Government or Central Government Health Scheme-recognised hospital.

Hike In AMA Treatment Reimbursement

A revision has also been made in the ceiling of reimbursement for medical treatment undertaken from AMA (Against Medical Advice) from the existing Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 .

Terms and conditions pertaining to the ceiling will remain unchanged. 

This news comes in the backdrop of announcements made earlier by the 7th pay commission pay matrix with regards to disbursement of Dearness Allowance of serving employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners starting July 1.

DA, DR Payment Finally Coming?

The same will be discussed in a meeting convened on June 26 by the National Council of JCM, Finance Ministry and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) over the payment of three DA arrears.

As a quick recap, the lump sum DA and DR disbursement of 3 different installments has been pending since January 2020. 

If the same is completed come July 2021, the new addition will mean a huge increase of 28% from 17% in the salary of central government employees.
