One of the major drawbacks of Whatsapp is restoring the chat history on the app. As we all know, the app does not allow users to restore their chats if they change their device from iOS to Android or vice versa.

Whatsapp, currently, only supports a single phone number when it comes to restoring chat history, instead of a single account.
And now, news is that Facebook will be working on making the entire process of restoring chats when you change your phone number.
The developers’ team of the Facebook owned popular social networking app will now allow us to migrate chat history from one phone number to another.
This will definitely prove to be a useful feature for people who own two phones or are planning on changing their phone numbers.
WhatsApp To Allow Export And Import Of Data Between Android and iOS
Recently, we reported to you that WhatsApp will make it easier to export and import chats between android and iOS devices very soon.
This will of course result in a smoother process of switching from one device to the other. As of now, if you want to switch from Android to iOS or vice versa, you will have to lose all your WhatsApp chats and start afresh. The only other options are to pay or use third-party apps none of which agree with the policy of WhatsApp.
As per a report by WABetaInfo, the latest version of the beta for android has been revealed to have this feature of chat import.
With the help of this feature, iOS users will be able to export their chats which can later be loaded on Android devices. The charts will be exported as an external file probably and imported on android devices through WhatsApp.
The report also has revealed that this feature will is likely be rolled out after the launch of WhatsApp’s multi device feature.
While this feature is not yet implemented and there is no way of predicting when it will be rolled out, there are some screenshots that have been leaked which confirm the launch of the feature. It reportedly wont be long before the feature is launched.
