These Best Selling Maruti Cars Conquered Indian Market In April: WagonR, Baleno, Swift & More!
The Wagon R was Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s (MSIL) best-selling model in the domestic market, and it was also the most popular Maruti Suzuki model in the country in April 2021.

Just a few weeks ago, the Swift 2021 received minor frontal and interior changes, as well as the inclusion of three dual-tone colour schemes.
The tall-riding hatchback finished narrowly ahead of the Swift with a total of 18,656 units sold.
Last month, the compact hatchback sold 18,316 units, putting it in second place. MSIL’s Alto affordable hatchback was the third most popular model in the company’s lineup.
In April 2021, the Baleno premium hatchback finished in fourth place with 16,384 units sold. With 14,073 units sold, the Dzire compact sedan came in fifth place, ahead of the Eeco, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, and S-Presso.
The Eeco received 11,469 units, with only 249 units separating it from the Vitara Brezza.
The Ignis Came In Tenth Place!
The Ertiga seven-seater MPV received 8,644 orders, while the S-Presso received 7,738 orders.
Last month, the Ignis came in tenth place with 4,522 units sold, while the Ertiga’s more premium edition, the XL6, sold 3,373 units. The XL6 has a different front fascia than the Ertiga and a middle row captain seating configuration.
Last month, the S-Cross finished ahead of Ciaz and Celerio with 2,247 units sold.
Overall, the country’s largest carmaker sold 1,35,879 units last month, down from 1,46,203 units the previous month in March 2021, indicating a 7.1 per cent month-on-month negative volume rise.
Car Sales Were Significantly Lower Due To This Reason
But, in April 2021, car sales were significantly lower than in March 2021. This is due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the country’s second wave.
Maruti Suzuki recorded a 47.4 per cent market share in April 2021 with an increase of 1.8 per cent compared to the previous month.
Except for Mahindra and Honda, all the other automakers in the country posted MoM de-growth due to the unfavourable circumstances prevailing across the country.
