Google Pixel 5a

The recent Google Pixel 5a image leak in a blogpost hints at a May / June launch, though yet to be confirmed. Google accidentally shared a photo taken with the device way back in October last year. It’s probably from an early software build and older Google Camera release, and the Pixel 5a photo has a screen resolution of 4032 × 3024 pixels. It’s supposed to pack in the same 12.2MP sensor with upgraded software with an aperture of f/2.2, 16mm focal length, hinting at an ultra wide-angle camera. Pixel 5a may have a dual-camera setup with support for HDR+, Night Sight, Portrait Mode and other features from Pixel handsets.

Google will follow the same strategy with Pixel 5a as the previous generation Pixel 4a in 2021, no fancy features, just a budget pricing with some really good specs on-board. Google entered the midrange segment first with Pixel 3a in 2019, and then took the market by storm with Pixel 4a last year. In spite of being affordable, the mid-range Pixel phones became natural choices for people looking for mid-range phones with good cameras. The single-camera sensors on Pixel 3a and Pixel 4a produced stunning pictures with some amazing low light photography.
