KFC India Will Hire 100% More Women Employees; 40% Workforce Will Be Women By 2024
As KFC plans to step up its diversity and inclusion initiatives in India, in next 3 to 4 years it plans to double the count of women employees to around 5000.
Under its ‘KFC Kshamata’ programme, in an attempt to make KFC india is trying to increase the overall ratio of women employees to 40 per cent by 2024 which is currently at 30 percent. KFC India currently also operates two all-women restaurants.
40% Women Workforce
Managing Director, KFC India Samir Menon speaking on gender diversity said that rather than being a loud exercise it was handled and grown very organically from around 7-8 per cent to around 30 per cent which included both team members and leaders of restaurants. He added that the intent of the organization is to get to 40 per cent by 2024, abridging the gender and ability imbalance gap and increase the workforce at their restaurants by two times by 2024.
100% More Women Employees
Currently KFC India has about 2,500 hundred women in our restaurants across states. The organization has previously opened its first all-women restaurant in Darjeeling and a second one, which also happens to be the 25,000th KFC restaurant in the world, in Hyderabad. The organization plans to open new restaurants as the gender diversity gets more amplified.
Women, according to realization as well as the research performed by company, have higher retention, lower attrition and strong competitive scores and hence company would continue to encourage more women at work.
This, according to KFC, resonates beautifully with the overall brand perspective and how it is built and hence they plan to pursue it in a rather large way.
They are also planning to double the footprint of Special KFCs. These are operated by hearing and speech impaired team members, by 2024. It would also launch select, flagship Special KFCs across the country.
In order to provide an elevated KFC experience for specially-abled team members as well as customers, it plans to launch select, flagship Special KFCs across the country.
The brand, under its KFC Kshamata programme, plans to open 70 ‘Special KFCs’ by 2024. Currently there are 30 of this kind operational at the moment.
From first five or six people, currently there are almost 200 people in the Special KFC restaurant which has led the brand to have to a very deep conviction about the impact that they can make. Currently the brand operates over 480 restaurants in more than 130 cities across the country.
