Tata Sky subscribers can now enjoy mobile accessibility as the DTH service provider is developing an app for its Binge set top box

Tata Sky subscribers can now enjoy mobile accessibility as the DTH service provider is developing an app for its Binge set top box. Both Android and iOS users can download it.

This is a welcome move since until now the service was limited to only television sets which drew complaints from people who preferred to view content on mobile and other devices.

Features

The service offers users access to 10 OTTs in a one-stop destination without having to switch between multiple OTT apps in search of content.

The 10 OTT apps are-

  • Disney+ Hotstar
  • Sony Liv
  • Zee5
  • Voot Select
  • Curiosity Stream
  • Voot Kids
  • Eros Now
  • Sun NXT
  • Hungama Play
  • Shemaroo Me

It must be noted that 3 out of the 10 are available for consumption only on television. They are Sony Liv, Sun NXT, and Eros Now.

With the Binge app users can connect a maximum of 3 devices per account. One can seamlessly switch between watching live TV to on-demand streaming services.

It also has a built-in Chromecast feature so users can cast what they are watching on mobile devices onto the larger tv screen.

Technicals

The device is based on Google Android TV platform.

The smart device comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.

It comes with a Bluetooth remote control allowing users to use their phone in lieu of the traditional remote, coming in handy while playing games.

Audio can be enhanced by connecting speakers or headsets via Bluetooth connectivity.

Google Voice-search, SD Card and multiple USB slots are included.

Inclusions and Pricing

Tata Sky Binge+ is priced at Rs. 2999 for New and Rs. 2499 for Upgrade & Multi TV Acquisitions.

The price also includes 3 months of free Amazon Prime subscription post which one can continue by paying Rs 129 a month.

The internet is not required for viewing live TV. However a minimum of 2mbps is needed for Binge services & OTT.
