As per reports coming in, milk producers and sellers in some cities have decided to raise the price of milk by Rs 12, and this will be effective from March 1st.
Although this may be applicable to only few cities, but it can set a new precedent, and price of milk can be raised in other parts of the country as well.

Milk Producers In This City Will Raise Price Of Milk
Milk producers across several villages in and around Ratlam have announced that they will increase the price of milk by Rs 12 per litre.
Ratlam is a major milk producing hub in Madhya Pradesh, and this sudden rise in milk prices by Rs 12 per litre will impact the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.
And soon, other milk producers across the nation can follow this price rise.
As per the reports, the price of milk in Ratlam will now become Rs 55 per litre from March 1st.
What Is The Reason For Price Hike?
The increased price of petrol along with expensive animal fodder has been cited as the primary reason why the price will increase of the milk.
Due to the expensive fuel price, the transportation price has also increased, thereby creating a ripple effect.
President of Ratlam Milk Producers Association, Hiralal Chaudhary, said, “Our demand is to increase the price of milk. Last year, the price of milk was not increased due to coronavirus, but now the price of fodder has increased, along with the prices of petrol and diesel. We get our buffalo for Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh. Right now the price by milk producers is Rs 43 per litre, so we have decided to increase the price of milk to Rs 55 per litre. We will see further if we agree with the milk vendors of the city,”
The milk producers’ association has said that if the Govt doesn’t approve the price hike, they will be forced to stop milk production.
