New Pune-Mumbai High Speed Train Will Reduce Travel Time By 1 Hour: Reach Mumbai 1 Hour, 39 Minutes!


A draft for various regions in the state has been prepared by Maharashtra railway infrastructure development company (MAHARAIL). Many projects are proposed in this draft. One of them includes a high speed train project between Pune and Mumbai. Almost one hour of travel time will be reduced by these railway projects.

On 14th January Thursday, a meeting was organized as Sahyadari guest home in Mumbai to discuss Pune-Nashik Railway project. Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Transport minister Anil Parab, Satej Patil, chief secretary Sanjay Kumar were present for this meeting.

Future Projects:-

Future projects to be implemented were presented by Maha-Rail’s Managing Director Rajesh Kumar. Various projects like Mumbai-Pune high-speed railway, Ratnagiri -Pune, Aurangabad-Chalisgaon, Rotegaon – Kopargaon, Pune -Aurangabad, Pune-Nanded, Chiplun-Karad and Vaibhavwadi –Kolhapur were included in the presentation. Also, Chiplun-Karad and Vaibhavwadi-Kolhapur are the new railway lines to be developed by the company among these.

Pune- Nashik High Speed Double Line Rail Project :-

One of the most ambitious railway project of Maharashtra government is Pune-Nashik semi high-speed double line rail project. Since both the cities of Pune and Nashik are progressing agriculture and industrial development, hence this project will provide impetus and boost to the economy, agriculture and industrial development and tourism. Since any economic activity has a multiplier effect, this project will also create new new employment opportunities. Recently, CM Thackrey ordered to submit a project proposal to the cabinet.
