Since last 24 odd hours, HDFC bank customers have gone through a harrowing time, as their net banking and UPI services were down.

At the time of writing this story, servers were still down, and users were not able to access any digital services of the bank.

What exactly has happened?

Since afternoon of November 21st, 2020, that is Saturday, HDFC Bank customers are not able to use the net banking and UPI features.

This prevented them from making any payments, transferring any payments, and use their UPI services.

This proved to be a major embarrassment for India’s biggest private sector bank.

What Happened Actually?

As per HDFC Bank, this ‘outage’ happened as their data centers encountered some technical issue, and their data centers were down.

This resulted in the non-working of their net banking and UPI services.

In a statement, HDFC Bank said, “An unexpected outage at one of our data centers has impacted some of our services. We are working towards restoration of the services, which shouldn’t take long. The inconvenience is sincerely regretted,”

There was no reason mentioned behind the reason of this sudden outage at the data centers.

This tweet was shared at 12 in the night of November 21st, and since then, there has bene no update.

This means that the HDFC servers are still down, and customers won’t be able to use any of their services.
