#JoeBiden: Green Card For 500,000 Indians! US Citizenship For 1.1 Cr Immigrants
Joe Biden, who is all set to become 46th US President by defeating ex-President Donald Trump may soon unleash a new wave of progressive immigration policy, which welcomes new immigrants, and not closes down the borders.
As per the latest reports coming in, Democratic Party under Joe Biden is expected to expand their immigration policy, and accommodate more and more immigrants into the US.
In this endeavor, around 500,000 Indians can get US citizenship, as 1.1 crore immigrants, mostly illegal immigrants will be provided with Green Card.
Here are the details..
500,000 Indians Will Get US Citizenship
As per the poll promises, and the election manifesto shared by Joe Biden’s Democratic Party, they will unleash a wide range of immigration reforms, which were long overdue.
Prominent among them is increasing the total number of immigrants, who are allowed to live and work in the US.
As per Joe Biden’s promise, US will throw open the borders, and provide US Citizenship for 1.1 crore immigrants globally.
And this also includes 500,000 Indians.
The policy document from the Democratic Party and Joe Biden said, “He (Biden) will immediately begin working with Congress to pass legislative immigration reform that modernises our system, with a priority on keeping families together by providing a roadmap to citizenship for nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants — including more than 500,000 from India.”
Focus On Family Based Immigration
Joe Biden’s political ideologies strongly support nurturing and protecting family values.
And this is the reason a strong family based immigration system has been proposed, which will ensure that the backlog of family visas are reduced, and more immigrants are allowed to live and work in the US with families.
The decision to allow spouses of H1B visa employees is also seen as a logical extension of the same vision.
The policy document from Joe Biden said, “And, he will increase the number of refugees we welcome into this country by setting the annual global refugee admissions target to 125,000 and seek to raise it over time commensurate with our responsibility, our values, and the unprecedented global need. He will also work with Congress to establish a minimum admissions number of 95,000 refugees annually..”
Besides, a ton of decisions approved by Donald Trump will be reversed as well, under Joe Biden.
