New OTP System Implemented For Home Delivery Of LPG Gas Cylinders

Oil companies will now be implementing a new rule for the home delivery system of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas cylinders. This system is called the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC), wherein, the home delivery of a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder will require an OTP (one-time-password).

This DAC system is already underway in Jaipur in Rajasthan. Also, reports are that it will first be implemented in 100 smart cities and will also be extended to other cities, if the system works efficiently in these cities.

If you want to get your cylinder home delivered, you will have to give the OTP to the delivery executive. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number when you book the gas cylinder. if your mobile number has not been updated, the number can be updated by the delivery person through an application in real time.

This system has been introduced to prevent the theft of cylinders of cooking gas. Also, it will help them to identify the right customer so that the cylinder is delivered to the right person.
