Every year we keep on waiting for the festival seasons to come.

But this year, it seems the wait is not over yet as many nations are working on the vaccines to defeat this year’s Ravan in the form of COVID-19 virus.

But it is a good idea, to be ready with a plan, when finally the vaccine comes in future.

Working On Vaccine Delivery System

On that thought, Prime Minister Modi said that they were working on putting in place a well-established vaccine delivery system.

Further “this digitized network, along with the digital health ID, would be used to ensure the immunization of citizens” he said on Monday.

While the health ministry official said on Tuesday, if India had a vaccine today, the government would be ready to vaccinate at least 3 crore people instantly.

Further he said, “We have a rough estimate of about 3 crore people who have been identified to be vaccinated in the first tranche,”.

“This would include about 70-80 lakh crore doctors and around 2 crore healthcare workers,” he added.

Use of IDs

On Tuesday, the government said that Several IDs apart from the unique digital health ID under the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) would be prescribed for the Covid-19 vaccination drive which is expected in the coming year.

When asked about the NDHM digital ID, if it would be mandatory to receive the vaccine?

The Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “To ensure no one was deprived of vaccination, multiple IDs would be used during the inoculation drive”.

Who Will Be Given The Vaccine First?

So far, the expert committee on vaccines has been working on a draft prioritisation plan.

They are considering the number of people to be vaccinated as soon as a vaccine is ready to fight against coronavirus.

Eventually, they have considered the 2 crore frontline workers, which include home guards, armed forces, central and state police forces.

The list also includes, municipal workers and Asha workers and community workers – like cleaners, teachers and drivers.

The health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “If present trials succeed, then we would be going ahead with the prioritization list of those who are being identified,”.
