A Realme executive has released a teaser for their new flagship smartphone, which will have a 5nm core in the processor, which is most probably Snapdragon 875.

This comes hours after Apple launched their new A14 chipset, which has 5nm core, and will be powering their iPhone 12 as well as iPad Air.

This means that Realme has challenged Apple, and the new battleground is 5nm chipset.

Realme’s New Teaser: 5nm Chipset Flagship Phone

As per a Realme executive, their company will soon launch a new flagship smartphone, which will be powered with a Snapdragon 875 processor, which will have a 5nm chipset.

Xu Qi, who is the President of Global Marketing and Vice President at Realme, revealed this on Weibo, the popular Chinese social media app where most of the smartphone leaks take place.

In the announcement, he hasn’t named Snapdragon 875 processor, but have mentioned a 5nm chipset smartphone, taking a direct challenge to Apple’s new lineup.

Since most of the flagship smartphones from Xiaomi and Realme are powered with Snapdragon processor, we can safely assume that the new 5nm chipset will be of Snapdragon 875 processor.

When Can This Flagship Launch?

As per the delivery schedule of Qualcomm, the production of Snapdragon 875 processor will be unveiled by end of 2020. And once that happens, then the flagship smartphone with SD 875 and 5nm chipset can be launched by early 2021.

Other reports suggest that SD 875 will be powered with Cortex-X1 Super Core and Cortex-A78 Core. Since X1 core is 30% more energy efficient than the previously used A77 core, we can expect better performance and more power.

Right now, Samsung is making the Snapdragon 875 processor with 5nm core, as Qualcomm has outsourced the entire process to them.
