The largest car manufacturer in the world, Maruti Suzuki, has announced a new vehicle leasing subscription service – Maruti Suzuki Subscribe.
The pilot project of this service will be conducted in Bengaluru and Gurugram, and the company has teamed up with Japanese Orix Auto Infrastructure Services for this project.

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe: Cars You Can Lease, Tenure Conditions
Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is a facility that will enable individual car buyers to choose from a variety of Maruti Suzuki cars including their variants for leasing.
The cars that you can take on lease are are Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga, which are available on the Arena network. Whereas, the Nexa dealer network offers Baleno, Ciaz, and XL6.
The lease tenure can also be extended by the customer if required by sending a written request 30 days before the existing tenure period ends.
Once the tenure of the lease is fixed the predetermined monthly amount will have to be paid by the customer. No additional maintenance, service cost, or down payment will be required. The customers will also be given 24 X 7 roadside assistance along with their monthly payment.Â
Additionally, the subscription charges will take care of the annual usage of Rs. 18000 km. After this limit is exceeded, the customers will be charged Rs. 7/km excluding taxes.
Maintenance, Service, Insurance Claims, To Be Taken Care Of By Leasing Partner
Customers will have to select the model and the variant of the car that they want to lease after which they will be required to choose the tenure and fill up all the required forms. Once the application is approved, the chosen vehicle should be available within 15 days of the booking. Of course, this also depends on the availability of the car. Once the car has been delivered to you, all the post sales operations like maintenance, service, insurance claims, etc. will be taken care of by the leasing partner, Orix.
Additionally, there is a lock-in period that is applicable when you lease the car. The lock-in period for the 24-month tenure is 12 months, for 36 months it is 18 months, and for a 24 month tenure period, the lock-in period is 24 months. If you return the car before the lock-in period is over you will be required to pay for the remaining months of the period and three months’ cost as well. If the car is returned after the lock-in period, you will have to pay between 1 to 3 months’ worth.
