What Happens If You Have Installed TikTok Before the Ban?
The list of banned apps also included a number of notable apps like SHAREit, Xender, Mi Community, Mi Video Call, Viva Video, Cam Scanner and more.
Shortly after the ban was implemented, the Tik Tok app vanished from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store as well. The app is no longer available for users to download on their smartphones.
Once you tap on OK and re-open the app, the content cannot be accessed. Not even with a VPN.
A new user notice popup also appeared which stated, “Dear users, we are in the process of complying with the Government of India’s directive to block 59 apps. Ensuring the privacy and security of all our users remains our utmost priority.”
The same message is seen on TikTok’s main website as well. You can, however, follow the company on Twitter and Instagram.
If you open the app now, it just shows an unstable network connection.
How To Access Your TikTok Content?
- Open the Tik Tok app and go to your profile. (You can’t download the app anymore if you have uninstalled it)
- On a video – tap the three-dots icon and tap to Save video.
- That Tik Tok video will be downloaded locally on your device.
- Now repeat the same steps to download the other videos as well.
Unfortunately, this is the fastest method available right now. Also, the videos will have a watermark.
