Lawsuit Filed Against Infosys For Racial Discrimination by Former Diversity Recruiting Head

Davina Linguist, an US national of African American race has accused that Infosys removed her from her position because she testified against the company in a class action lawsuit back in 2016.

As per reports, she had testified in a case that was filed by Brenda Koehler who was an American job aspirant and complaint that Infosys preferred workers from South Asia over the local job applicants to fill vacant positions in the US.

The complaint states that Infosys has hired about 20000 employees in the United States. Of these 90% of employees are South Asian and Indian despite the population of the South Asian people in the US comprising of only 1 – 2 percent.

Infosys Denies All Allegations; Will Defend Itself In Court

However, Infosys has openly denied all the accusations of discrimination and retaliation and will be defending itself in the court.

A statement issued by the company, states, “Infosys has a policy of treating everyone fairly and providing equal employment opportunity and an inclusive workplace to all. It has multiple avenues in which employees can report concerns and further takes affirmative measures so that employees can do so without retaliation.”

This case against Infosys comes at a really bad time as everyone in the US is struggling and rebelling against the racial discrimination in the country which was stirred up by the death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd.
