The lockdown has resulted in companies firing their employees left, right and center. There has been multiple news about IT companies laying off their employees, which is not quite acceptable, especially during a critical time like this.

However, as per fresh reports coming in, there are many companies that are going in the opposite direction. Some of the big companies, including TCS and Capgemini, are holding on to their new hires, despite the lockdown.

Google, Capgemini, TCS Amongst Companies To Hold On To New Hirings

Coronavirus outbreak led to a nation-wide lockdown being imposed, which impacted the economy quite severely. This also led to some of the organizations firing their employees, which was very unexpected. Some IT companies in Pune have already fired more than 300 employees. 

However, there are some companies that are doing good on their promise, and holding on to the freshers that they have already offered employment to. 

Google, Cisco, Capgemini, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, and Cognizant. And others such as Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Godrej, PepsiCo, Biocon, consultancy firms Boston Consulting Group (BCG), McKinsey, and Bain & Company, and banking firms such as Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Citi and Axis Bank are some of the companies that have assured that they will be fulfilling their promises made to the new joiners.

TCS, Wipro To Hire New Employees; HUL, Biocon, Citi Bank To Onboard Interns

TCS and Wipro are reportedly hiring 30000 and 12000 employees this financial year. Cognizant is also keeping up with its word of hiring 20,000 freshers in this fiscal year. Moreover, Capgemini has also opened up recruitment for more than 4000 lateral hires in the second quarter of this year and will onboard all of them. 

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has also onboarded 101 interns from the top 15 business schools in India. Then there is Biocon, who will also continue to keep the 250 job offers that they have made. Citi Bank has also offered jobs to 400 analysts that they hired from engineering schools and 54 analysts. 

Also, Cisco has hired 100 candidates virtually, starting March 15, and Godrej has also hired 64 summer interns from 13 institutions, such as Delhi School of Economics, IIM-Ahmedabad, and IIM-Calcutta.
