RIL Launched My Jio Mart To Extend Beyond Grocery To Smartphones and Electronics

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has launched its most ambitious, hyperlocal Kirana-led retail project, My Jio Mart, quite recently. It has been launched in Kalyan, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, in Maharashtra, with a vision to empower 30 million small traders and merchants.

However, this platform will no longer be limited to grocery, but will also expand to cover smartphones and electronics under its umbrella.

Sources have revealed, “Going ahead with the store-driven e-commerce model, JioMart will soon launch a lakh odd stores on its platform, where even if a product is not available on the platform it will tell you where the nearest availability is, all of it is currently under pilot phase.”

This pilot phase of Reliance’s My Jio Mart will be set up in Navi Mumbai, and the news is that the platform will also include products and commodities of other verticals, including those of pharmacy, sometime in the near future.

The My Jio Mart has been silently launched with a tagline, ‘Desh ki nayi dukaan’, and the expansion to smartphones and electronic gadgets will begin on January 26, 2020.
