You may wonder how can a harmless online search for a celebrity cricketer become dangerous?

But the truth is, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar are among the most dangerous celebrities when it comes to online searches.

And the reason is virus attack on your computer and mobile.

MS Dhoni Most Dangerous Celebrity To Search Online

Digital security and anti-virus company McAfee has released a list of those celebrities, whose search results are deemed as ‘dangerous’.

In India, MS Dhoni has topped this list.

He is followed by Sachin Tendulkar, the God of Cricket, and at #3 is Gautam Gulati, who won the Big Boss 8 recently.

At #4 is Sunny Leone, who is still #1 celebrity when it comes to Google searches, and at #5 is rap and pop icon Badshaah.

While Radhika Apte has been ranked #6 in the list, Shradhha Kapoor, the Bollywood diva is at #7.

Ace woman cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur has been ranked #8, while badminton champion P.V. Sindhu is 9th most dangerous celebrity, while football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is at 10th rank.

What Makes These Celebrities As Dangerous?

When one searches online, then the results which are generated hold the key to this answer.

McAfee studied the search results of these celebrities, and after analysing the links, this ranking was derived.

Explaining the logic, Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering and Managing Director, McAfee said that as premium content is being hidden behind paywalls, most of the users search for these celebrities, and lookout for free access content.

This is where the hackers hide their viruses and malwares, and as soon a gullible user clicks on these links, the malware/virus is triggered.

And the mobile/laptop/computer using which these searches were made, are infected.

He said, “Unfortunately, they (internet users) may not be fully aware of the risks that malicious websites providing such content can pose in exchange for this access,”

McAfee has advised all Internet users to only open trusted websites, and always have an anti-virus software installed in their devices.
