Every Oyo Customer Will Get Free Insurance Upto Rs 10 Lakh; It Also Covers Accidental Death

Also, it took the lead over Intercontinental Hotels Group, bagging the position of third largest hotel chain the world, in terms of room count, as of June 2019. Now, OYO will offer company’s free insurance coverage to all its guests where it will cover upto Rs 10,00,000 for protection against accidental death (coverage upto Rs 10,00,000), baggage loss (coverage upto Rs 10,000), accidental medical expenses (coverage upto Rs 25,000) amongst other benefits like OPD treatment, etc for the entire duration of their stay in a particular city.
OYO’s Insurance Coverage for Guests
OYO has partnered with ACKO General Insurance, an Indian Insurtech company and has now launched a complimentary insurance cover offering as part of the booking price for guests staying in OYO properties across India.
It will cover baggage losses up to Rs 10,000, protection against accidental death up to Rs 10,00,000, and accidental medical expenses up to Rs 25,000. OYO is also offering other benefits including OPD treatment, etc.
OYO will be offering this insurance to guests staying at OYO Hotels, OYO Home, OYO Townhouse, Collection O, SilverKey, Capital O and Palette Resorts, valid for their full period of stay in these properties. The insurance cover will be applicable to bookings made via the OYO App, website, mobile website, direct bookings as well as walk-ins. The offering will be extended to other categories and booking channels in the coming days.
How To Claim the Insurance
Customers can make a request for insurance by both OYO application and website and on the ACKO platform. You can open the app and go to ‘My Bookings’, select the particular stay that you want to claim for from the list of stay and then click on ‘Insurance’ option from your stay details page, select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with Acko.
Parallelly, on Acko.com, login into the website with your mobile number registered on OYO. Under the ‘Claims’ section, select OYO Claims which opens your ‘My Account’ page and then select the ‘Stay’ filter which opens all your stays.
Then pick the particular trip, click on the ‘Initiate Claim’ button below the Policy details section, select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with Acko.
